What is a navgraha shanti puja and when is it needed?

It is a ritual performed to settle the influence of the nine planets in your horoscope. People usually book one when an astrologer identifies a specific graha causing difficulty, or during a mahadasha or antardasha that is expected to be hard. It is also done before starting something important, like a business, a new house or a marriage, to clear the way beforehand.

Should I book a single graha puja or the full navagraha puja?

If your pandit has named one planet, book that graha puja on its own. If several placements are troublesome, or you do not have a specific diagnosis and simply want overall balance, the full Navagraha Shanti Puja with homam addresses all nine together and is usually the more sensible choice.

What details do you need from me to perform the puja?

The name of the person the puja is for, their gotra, and their birth details, since graha pujas are tied to the horoscope. If you do not know your gotra, tell us and our pandits will use the standard alternative followed in such cases. We collect all of this after you place the order.

Why do the prices vary so widely within the same puja?

Two factors decide it. The first is the number of mantra chants, which can go from 9,000 to over a lakh. The second is how many Gurujis perform the anushthan, ranging from a single pandit to eleven. A larger jaap takes more pandits and more days, which is what the higher price reflects. The scale you choose usually depends on how serious the affliction is.

Do I need to be present for the puja?

No. The puja is performed on your behalf and the sankalp taken in your name is what connects you to it, so your presence is not required. You will be told the scheduled date and time before it is performed, and if you would like to watch it being done, mention that when you book.
